Project Details

After working with PACE on a location in Warren, OFS was selected to design and furnish their main facility in Southfield. Pace is an alternative to nursing home care for seniors living in their homes or with family. A residential look and feel was essential to the design of the space as the priority was that participants were to feel at home in the space and to avoid an institutional feeling. Way finding for participants was also a drive for design and lead to a monochromatic design in each separate “neighborhood”. Friendship park, a neighborhood focused on seniors with dementia, was designed in a monochromatic orange and yellow scheme as these colors are known to stimulate memory. Fabrics and finishes with soft colors and organic patterns were selected in collaboration with OFS designers and members of the PACE organization.

“PACE Southeast Michigan considers Office Furniture Solutions a highly valued partner because they ‘think out of box’ and provide creative solutions to all our furniture needs beyond offices. They learned about our mission, and provided exceptional options for “residential looking” furniture to meet the needs of seniors who come to our Centers every day. The OFS team is not only pleasant to work with, they are highly responsive to ensure budgets are met, and prompt follow up occurs.”
